Southern States Junior Classics

How It Works

The Southern States Junior Classics (SSJC) is excited to announce an all-new format structure to the 2022 season. Four (4) states consisting of Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, & Tennessee will each have their own four (4) tournaments with a points race leading to the fifth and final tournament also known as the state championship. Players who gain the most points within their division & state will be crowned SSJC Champions at the State Championships.

All our state champion division winners will be invited to represent the Southern States Junior Classics Tour and will compete together as a team in Orlando, FL in December. All these players will be competing in both team and individual stroke play competition. The players will have the opportunity to take advantage of a stay-and-play package at one of Orlando’s finest resorts. Every player will receive a highlight reel that can be used for college recruiting.

Another major addition to the 2022 season, in partnership with the Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship (NB3 JGNC) series, the SSJC will award one (1) boy and one (1) girl a free exemption into the 2022 NB3 JGNC which will once again air on Golf Channel for the third consecutive year. No matter the division, the highest point earning male and highest point earning female in the “Race to Coushatta” across all events will will earn this once in a lifetime exemption.

Competing for SSJC State Championship

Any junior ages 10-18 is invited to come out to participate as there are no resumes, prerequisites, or status needed to enter an event. Players will be able to compete in an unlimited number of events that take place in their home state as well as other states to gain the most points they can to capture a state championship in their division. Points from each event will only count towards the standings for that state. For example, if a player competes in an event taking place in Alabama, and they reside in Tennessee, points will only be awarded to them in the Alabama points standings. Each division will crown a SSJC State Champion once the final event of each state has concluded.
